U15 members acquire new research evaluation tools

The U15, a consortium of Canada's leading research-intensive universities, has teamed with Harvard Univ, Emory Univ and Thompson Reuters' Intellectual Property & Science business unit to implement new indicator sets for evaluating research output and impact. U15 members will use the Reuters' InCities customized web-based research evaluation tools to assess and compare their research performance against the world's leading universities. The data sets will assist universities in developing new research strategies, retain talent, pinpoint emerging trends and identify new collaboration opportunities. They include analytics on authors, journals and fields and connect to the universities' research management and profiling systems....
