Ontario and Alberta launch innovation program

The Alberta and Ontario governments have signed an agreement that will see up to $8 million invested in industry-led R&D projects in six priority areas than encompass energy, water, advanced materials, manufacturing, clean tech and information and communication technologies. The projects must have a strong economic focus and connect industry with academia in both provinces. The funding for the two-year Alberta-Ontario Innovation Program will be drawn from government and private sector contributions. They will be managed in their respective jurisdictions by Ontario Centres of Excellence and Alberta Innovates-Technology Futures….
