NSERC funds quantum research network

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) has funded a new national network based at the Univ of Waterloo's Institute of Quantum Computing (IQC). QuantumWorks is one of several innovation platforms funded by NSERC and had its official unveiling last week. Heading QuantumWorks is Dr Raymond Laflamme, IQC's director and Canada Research Chair holder in quantum information. The network seeks to increase national capacity in quantum research by linking quantum researchers with industrial and government partners, building on Canada's expertise in quantum cryptography, quantum algorithms and quantum information processing devices....
