Dr Iain Christie has been appointed president of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI). The not-for-profit professional scientific and technical organization promotes and facilitates Canadian competitiveness in the global aerospace industry. Christie is executive VP of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada, which he joined last year after 22 years with Neptec Design Group (R$, June 21/13). He holds a BSc in physics from Univ of King's College, an MSc in physics from Dalhousie Univ and a PhD in physics from the Univ of Ottawa. As CASI president, Christie will provide strategic advice to the institute's management team to determine its direction and priorities....
