Dr Howard Burton

Dr Howard Burton is stepping down as the inaugural executive director of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo ON. Burton assumed the position in 1999 and helped build the institute from the ground up, recruiting top talent and helping to secure public funding to match donations made by executives at Research in Motion Ltd. Burton did not return calls, but press reports say he is leaving due to a contract dispute.
