Dr John ApSimon has been appointed interim executive director of the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies (OCGS), a semi-autonomous branch of the Council of Ontario Universities. ApSimon will leave his current position as executive director of the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program to take up his new position in July. He will remain with the OCGS at least until the end of 2007 while a review of the organization is complete and a permanent replacement is selected. Before joining the CRC in 2005, ApSimon was a special science advisory to the DM at Environment Canada. Prior to that, he was VP research at Carleton Univ.
