Ontario Genomics Institute launches two new programs

The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) has launched two new programs designed to boost the participation of provincial genomics researchers in major international collaborations. The Genomics Technology Seeding program has already signed its first technology assessment agreement with The Hospital for Sick Children's Centre for Applied Genomics. If successful, the technology for generating specialized genotyping data could lead to breakthroughs in personalized medicine and make it more widely available through the research user community. The second program — Genomics Capacity Building Workshops — provides funding for workshops to explore key international collaborations. Two successful pilot workshops were held in late 2008....
