Ontario matches Anthony Pawson's Kyoto Prize

The Ontario government has taken the unusual step of matching a major scientific prize to one of the province's leading scientists. The Ministry of Research and Innovation is matching Dr Anthony Pawson's $500,000 Kyoto Prize in recognition of his work in molecular biology at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute into stopping the growth of diseases like diabetes and cancer. Pawson is one of the few Canadians to be awarded the Kyoto Prize, which is awarded annually by the Inamori Foundation, founded in 1984 by Dr Kazuo Inamori, founder and chairman emeritus of Kyocera Corp and KDDI Corp....
