Whitney Rockley

Whitney Rockley has been appointed VP finance and financial executive-in-residence for TEC Edmonton, a joint venture between the Univ of Alberta and the Edmonton Economic Development Corp. Rockley will use her venture capital (VC) experience to assist TEC Edmonton in growing regional advanced technology start-ups, as well as overseeing the finances of the organization. She has started and managed two VC corporate funds focused on energy and water technology firms. As executive-in-residence, Rockley will counsel the organization's client groups. That includes tenants in the Research Transition Facility, TEC Ed-monton's business incubator that recently relocated to downtown Edmonton (R$, December 9/05). She will also be responsible for establishing a seed fund with a minimum of $20 million and developing a framework for securing investors....
