Dr Michael Morgan has been appointed chief scientific officer of Genome Canada, filling a key position that was vacated last year with the resignation of Dr Alex MacKenzie (R$, December 9/05). Morgan spent 20 years with the Wellcome Trust and held a variety of positions before including chief executive of the organization's genome campus and director of research partnerships and ventures. He is a graduate in biochemistry from Trinity College, Dublin and holds a PhD in microbial carbohydrate metabolism from Leicester Univ. (FMI see page 5)....
