TRLabs wins public health R&D contract

TRLabs and TDV Global Inc have entered a three-year, $900,000 R&D project the develop a range of critical software tools for use by the Canadian Network for Public Health Intelligence (CNPHI). TDV, an Ottawa-based strategic management consulting firm with branches in Winnipeg and Halifax, is heading up CNPHI in conjunction with Health Canada, the Univ of Guelph, TRLabs, the Canadian Public Health Laboratory Network and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. TRLabs will develop information networking, computing architectures, software tools and application interfaces to CNPHI to facilitate its objective of emergency response systems for infectious disease events. CNPHI is one of 17 projects funded under the CBRN Research and Technology Initiative, a multi-stakeholder program led by Defence R&D Canada and funded in the 2001 Budget (R$, January 23/02)….
