The National Research Council’s Institute for Biological Sciences has entered a collaborative agreement with the Institute of Molecular Pharmacology in Berlin to establish a team of researchers to explore new ways of preventing and managing stroke. The research agreement will see researchers employ genomics and proteomics to follow changes of genes in a diseased state. The NRC contingent will be led by neurologist Dr Danica Stanimirovic. The project will unfold under the Partnership Agenda established between at the Canada-EU summit in Ottawa last March. The NRC has now negotiated research agreements with Germany, France, Spain, the UK and the Czech Republic.
