Thunder Bay home to new medical imaging centre

The federal government is providing $14.7 million towards a new $44.1-million Molecular Medicine Research Centre (MMRC) in Thunder Bay. As part of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC), the MMRC will focus on translational molecular medicine and imaging strategies. It will be managed as a joint venture between the TBRHSC and the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. MMRC also has several private sector partners led by Philips Medical Systems (a division of Philips Electronics Ltd). Federal funding will be administered by FedNor, the regional development agency for Northern and rural Ontario.
