Applied research institutions in British Columbia have formed a network to collaborate and connect with community organizations and businesses. The British Columbia Applied Research and Innovation Network (BCARIN) marked the launch of their network with a website and network portal, www.bcarin.ca, created and maintained by students with the Douglas College Digital Cultures Lab. Through the network, members are looking to grow their applied research capacity, and share knowledge and resources to improve outcomes required by community organizations they work with. BC Colleges says the 11 public colleges that make up BC Colleges are focused on ensuring that their graduates have the right advanced skills and education to meet labour market demands. BC’s public colleges also want to foster an environment to grow applied research and innovation to improve workforce productivity, sustain the success of businesses and expand community engagement. Member institutions of BCARIN include the 11 member colleges of BC Colleges as well as Justice Institute of BC and Yukon College. BCARIN members also belong to Colleges and Institutes Canada
