Quebec biotech incubation centre wins top award

The Quebec Biotechnology Innovation Centre (QBIC) has been chosen the incubator of the year, the first non-US recipient of the top prize handed out by the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA). The QBIC was recognized for the quality of its start-up programs and business services, its results, financial stability and quality of interaction between the Centre and resident firms. As of last year, QBIC’s 11 resident firms and six graduated companies employed nearly 550 people and had assets of $88 million. The NBIA has more than 1,000 members from 59 countries and provides a suite of information, education, advocacy and networking resources….
