CANARIE launches second NEP competition

CANARIE has launched the second round of its Network-Enabled Platforms program (NEP-2) to fund collaborative projects designed to accelerate the development of, and participation in, national and international cyber-infrastructure and e-research platforms. The $12-million competition will focus on the development and deployment of middleware tools and related platform technologies used by virtual organizations to support new and existing research activities. Projects must use CANARIE's advanced network. The first NEP competition was held in 2007 and yielded 10 projects with nearly $15 million in funding commitments.
