NSERC opens first regional office in Moncton

Science and Engineering Research Canada (NSERC) has opened the first of five planned regional offices to provide the granting agency with a direct presence in Atlantic Canada. Dr Yves Gagnon has been seconded from the Univ of Moncton to lead the Moncton NB office, which is co-located with the National Research Council in Parc Scientifique adjacent to the university. The regional offices are mandated to develop linkages with other regional players in research, training and innovation, as well as to gain a better understanding of the needs and concerns of researchers and student. More than 900 researchers and 600 students in Atlantic Canada receive NSERC funding of about $42 million annually....
