Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has launched two clean energy competitions under its Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure initiative. Funding for the Energy Innovation Program ($46.1 million) and the Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative ($16.4 million) was announced in the 2016 Budget and will span two years. The first program provides between $3 million and $20 million for demonstration projects of electric vehicle infrastructure and grid integration, covering up to 50% of eligible costs. The latter covers up to half of project costs for near-term deployment of relevant infrastructure to a maximum of $5 million.
