NRC Aerospace unveils projects, seeks partners

The National Research Council (NRC) is at the Paris Air Show seeking partners for a new project to develop and test no-lead alternatives for aircraft that still burn leaded fuel — typically high-compression piston engines common in rural and northern regions. NRC Aerospace recently conducted the first civil flight using 100% biofuel, achieving a 50% reduction in emissions. NRC Aerospace also unveiled a suite of five R&D programs in support of the Canadian aerospace industry. The programs are geared towards civil unmanned aircraft systems, reducing aviation icing risk, air defence systems, aeronautical product development technologies, and improvement of safety and comfort through technology development within the aircraft cabin….
