Feds announce $619M in academic research support

The federal government has announced $619 million in awards through three academic research support programs. The Canada Research Chairs program has awarded $260 million to support 305 new and renewed CRCs at 53 post-secondary institutions, and $17 million in infrastructure support for CRCs through the Canada Foundation for Innovation. A further $342 million was announced to defray the indirect costs of academic research through the Research Support Fund....
