Data analytics hub opens in northern Ontario

The Centre for Mining Innovation (CEMI) and SNOLAB are collaborating to offer an incubation space for small firms to develop data analytics knowhow and services resulting in a product or service. The Mining Observatory Data Control Centre aims to attract investment to northern Ontario and make the region a hub for data analytics.. The four-year, $2.4-million project offers successful applicants an initial two-year incubation period to focus on new data management and analytics capabilities for the mining and exploration industries. All necessary information technology infrastructure and support services are accessible on site. The project is a joint initiative between CEMI, SNOLAB, the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp and the Canada Mining Innovation Council. Request for proposal applications can go to www.cemi.ca with a deadline of March 31/16....
