Feds announce $21M for new networks and projects

The federal government has announced $21 million in new awards for small business R&D, knowledge translation and a new Canada-India research centre. The competition for a Canada-India Research Centre of Excellence will see $15 million awarded over five years to create partnerships that accelerate the exchange of research results between Canada and India in areas of strategic importance to both countries. The government first announced funding for the centre —initially pegged at $12 million—in its 2011 Budget. The Networks of Centres of Excellence, which will administer the competition, will hold a teleconference for interested bidders December 16. Notifications of intent are due January 9. Results will be announced in October 2012....
