The federal government has announced an Expert Working Group on Science and Technology for International Development to provide advice on how to make the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) a world leader in integrating of S&T into its international development activities. The expert working group, whose members have not been named, will advise the department on "specific programmatic, organizational and personnel reforms" to enhance the role of S&T in alleviating poverty and accelerating economic growth in developing countries.
