Dr Tony Rahilly has been appointed DG of the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) after serving for nearly two years in an acting capacity. Rahilly takes over IRAP's helm at a time when several key management positions remain vacant and concerns have been raised about its continuing effectiveness in assisting Canadian businesses.
