Dr Murray McLaughlin has been appointed director of business development for the Canadian Light Source at the Univ of Saskatchewan. Mclaughlin brings a host of business, management and marketing strengths to the CLS, Canada's only synchrotron which is now seeking clients for its various beamlines seeking new information on the chemical nature and molecular structure of materials. He has enjoyed a long and varied career in the business, non-profit and government sectors, focusing mainly on agriculture and biotechnology. He was the founding president and CEO of AgWest Bio and has subsequently headed up several organizations, including Ontario Agri-Food Technologies, Foragen Technologies Management Inc. McLaughlin holds degrees from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, McGill Univ and Cornell Univ..
