Dr Robert Walker has been appointed VP of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd (AECL) with responsibility for the Crown corporation's nuclear laboratories. In addition to leading AECL's efforts in physics, metallurgy, chemistry, biology and engineering, Walker will guide the laboratories through AECL's re-structuring process which will see the CANDU business sold to the private sector. He is currently assistant DM at the Department of National Defence, CEO of Defence R&D Canada and chairman of the NATO Research and Technology Board. The AECL appointment is effective November 15th....
