Dr Martin Raillard

Dr Martin Raillard has been appointed chief scientist for the Canadian High Arctic Research Station (CHARS), slated to begin construction this fall. Raillard has more than 25 years experience in national and international Arctic science, including stints with Parks Canada and Canadian Wildlife Service. He also chaired the Arctic Council's Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program and lived year-round in the Arctic for 12 years. Raillard holds a PhD in Arctic science from the Univ of Toronto and an MSc and BSc in biology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
