Dr Elizabeth Cannon

Dr Elizabeth Cannon has been appointed interim chair of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), replacing Dr Will Leggett who stepped down from the position after three years (R$, December 22/06). Cannon is dean of the Schulich School of Engineering at the Univ of Calgary and a CFI board member. Her research and teaching are in the area of satellite-based navigation and location systems for land, air, and marine applications and she is a co-inventor of several software programs licensed world-wide. Cannon holds an MSc and PhD in geomatics engineering from the Univ of Calgary....

The National Research Council has appointed Daniel Gosselin, VP corporate management and CFO, as its interim president. He replaces Dr Pierre Coulombe who stepped down in mid-February after a single term. A search for a permanent president is ongoing....
