Dr Colleen Flood

Dr Colleen Flood has been appointed scientific director of the Institute of Health Services and Policy (IHSPR) Research, effective September 1. The IHSPR is one of 13 institutes comprising the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She replaces Dr Morris Barer, who was the IHSPR's founding scientific director in 2000. Flood's areas of research interest include comparative health care policy, public/private financing of health care systems, health care reforms, accountability and governance issues. She received her master of laws and doctor of juridical science from the Univ of Toronto in 1994 and 1998 respectively. Prior to joining CIHR, Flood was a senior fellow of Massey College.
