CIHR and partners launch Alzheimer research program

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is launched an Alzheimer Disease Research Grants Program in conjunction with its private sector and not-for-profit partners. CIHR is teaming with the Alzheimer Society of Canada (ASC) and the Canadian and US operations of Astra Zeneca to offer four two-year grants of up to $100,000 annually. The focus of the research will be on both the causes and cures of the disease and funding may also include stipends for research trainees. The principal investigator must be based in a Canadian university and only applications with a biomedical focus will be considered. Applications must be made to the ASC by October 15. CIHR and Astra Zeneca are participating through the CIHR/Rx&D Research Program....
