The International Science and Technology Program (ISTP) has co-funded six S&T projects between Canadian and Brazilian researchers involving more than 60 companies and universities. ISTP will contribute $1 million augmented by $1.2 million from other Canadian partners while the State of Sao Paulo Research Foundation and its partners will contribute $1.6 million for a total of $3.7 million. Three joint research projects will focus on fibre optics, biodegradable plastics and satellite technology, while three development initiatives will study the future potential of geomatics, wireless telecommunications and nanotechnology.
