Embracing Transition: Opportunity and Responsibility to Create a Better Future
At our 23rd annual R$ conference, themed "Reverse-Engineering the Future: Creating the Future We Want for Canada in 15 Years," there was a strong consensus that Canada needs a focused industrial strategy to guide innovation policy and regulation. You can read summaries of the proceedings here.
The key element of a sound industrial strategy is to identify where we want to be in 15 years and then “reverse engineer” how to get there from now. But to start, where are we now? And what successes, if any, over the past five years can we lean into?
Day One sessions will include:
Reflecting on Canada's Innovation Journey
Turning Global Risks Into Opportunities for Canada
Addressing Canada's Scale-up Problem
Success Stories and Lessons from Canadian Entrepreneurs
Global Perspectives on Governmental and Organizational Transition
Day Two sessions will include:
The Current Innovation Landscape: Responding to Rapid Change
Adapting to Change: Strategies for Resilience and Growth (facilitated workshop)
Workforce Transformation: Upskilling and Reskilling in the Face of Automation
New Models for S&T Research Support
The Role of Public Policy in Fostering Innovation: Immediate Priorities
Join us in May 2025 to explore where innovation in Canada has come from and where it’s headed.
