Alberta holding two venture capital events

Ventures capitalists from Canada and the US are congregating in this week to participate in two events organized by the provincial government. The first event is the Alberta-California Venture Channel Conference, which is being held for the first time in Alberta on September 19. It was created earlier this year at the recommendation of the Premier’s Advisory Council on Information and Communications Technology. The next stop on the venture capital (VC) tour is the Banff Venture Forum. The government has developed a strategy for attracting VC to its jurisdiction, including events like those mentioned above and the creation of Inno-Centre Alberta, a provincial node of the national Inno-Centre Canada mentoring firm.
