Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) has increased its investment in Stuart Energy Systems Corp, Mississauga, which is developing hydrogen-based back-up systems and storage systems for renewable energy sources. Stuart will receive $1.4 million on top of $5.8 million it received in 1999, increasing the cost of the R&D project from $17.7 million to $21.9 million. The new assistance will allow Stuart to expand potential applications beyond fuel-cell vehicles to back-up power generators and storage systems for energy sources such as wind and solar power.
