Robert Brooks

Robert Brooks has been appointed VP engineering and technology and chief technology officer for Westport Inc, a joint venture of Vancouver-based Westport Innovations Inc and Cummins Inc, Columbus IN. Brooks comes to Westport from Cummins, where he was executive director of electronic tools and information products. He will be responsible for further development of the firm’s spark-ignited engine products and final development and market readiness of its natural gas and cycle engines for trucks and power generation. Brooks joined Cummins in 1978 and has participated in the development of many of the company’s engine products. Since 1999, he has had responsibility for service, manufacturing and engineering tools and software for engine architecture.
