Research to benefit from new beef levy

The federal government is amending legislation governing beef cattle levies to include importers in a move that is expected to raise $800,000 a year for research and market development. The ammendment was developed by the Farm Products Council of Canada and Canada Beef, the latter formed in 2002 to fund promotion and research initiatives....
