Redline Communications Inc has received an investment of $4.6 million from Technology Partnerships Canada to develop two wireless broadband access systems to operate on the newly allocated Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure frequency bands. The R&D project will see the creation of a high-power, point-to-point wireless ethernet bridge and a point-to-multipoint system. The systems are based on Redline’s digital encoding technology, called orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing.
