Queen's business school receives $50-million gift

Queen's Univ is the recipient of the largest donation to a Canadian business school with a $50-million gift from financial services entrepreneur and philanthropist Stephen Smith. The donation will be endowed to help attract top talent and raise the level of excellence at the business school, enhancing Queen's' reputation nationally and internationally. The business school will be renamed the Stephen JR Smith School of Business. The gift is the single largest donation under the university's Initiative Campaign which has a $500-million goal. Smith received a BSc in electrical engineering from Queen's in 1972. He is the co-founder, chairman and CEO of First National Financial Corp and chairman of Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance....
