The Quebec government is providing more details on its planned research institute for the northern two thirds of the provinces, which received $2 million in the last provincial Budget (R$, June 16/14). The Nordic Institute of Quebec is part of the recently revived (and scaled back) Plan Nord, which provides a long-term strategic approach to the development of Quebec's northern territories.
