Peter Wehrly

Toronto-based Synaptive Medical Inc has appointed veteran healthcare executive Peter Wehrly as its new CEO. Wehrly will help company president Cameron Piron provide vision and leadership to help Synaptive Medical, a leading Canadian medical device and technology company, as it pursues further product development and commercialization. Wehrly, who is also chairman of the board, has more than 20 years of global experience as a business executive. Most recently, he was president and CEO of PQ Bypass, Sunnyvale CA and group president of Covidien, Mansfield MA, boosting their performance while focusing on customers and investors. Piron will assume the new role of chief strategy officer. Synaptive is a privately held medical devices and technology company focused on surgical planning and navigation, robotic digital microscopy and informatics.
