Ontario highlights 3D technology development

A two-year industrial-academic partnership to expand capacity for 3D film production in Ontario is presenting its research projects in progress at an event on April 23 in Toronto. 3D FLIC will be unveiling prototypes of a 3D camera, a demonstration of 2D to 3D conversion and the science behind 3D perception and the geometry of stereoscopic vision. The collaboration has many partners including York Univ, CFC Media Lab, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) , Cinespace Film Studios, 3D Camera Co, Side Effects Software, Starz Animation and Saw VII Production Canada Inc. 3D FLIC has received $1.4 million in support from the Ontario Media Development Corp, OCE, and in-kind industry and institutional support ....
