Ontario Genomics Institute launches affiliates program

The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) has launched an affiliates program to improve vendor-platform and user-platform access to leading-edge technologies. The affiliates program has six inaugural members based in Toronto, Ottawa, Guelph and London. The program seeks to overcome obstacles to researcher access to genomics technology platforms used for DNA sequencing, DNA arrays and protein mass spectrometry. Obstacles include high cost, limited early-adaptor installations and few expert operators and analysts. The program also aims to achieve vendor discounts through economies of scale and training events....
