NDP S&T critic keeps PSO motion alive

Kennedy Stewart, the NDP S&T critic, introduced a petition to the House of Commons in support of his private members bill calling for the creation of a Parliamentary Science Officer (PSO) (R$, November 26/13). The bill was defeated in a vote late last year but the petition signed by scientists keeps the issue before Parliament. The Industry minister has 45 days to respond to the bill, but the summer recess pushes a response back to September when the House reconvenes....
