Messier-Dowty nabs $25M in TPC funding

Messier-Dowty Inc, Ajax ON, has received $24.9 million in assistance from Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) for pre-competitive R&D to improve its landing gear systems. Nearly 300 jobs will be created or maintained, including 162 in the R&D phase of the project and the remainder during to so-called benefits phase. The project is focused on compressing the design-development cycle, reducing weight, lowering hardware costs and ensuring environmentally responsible production. More specifically, the TPC funding will go towards R&D associated with leading gear design techniques, materials and processing technology, performance analysis methodologies, stress analysis techniques, systems integration and analysis processes, test activities, electronic controls and manufacturing technologies. Messier-Dowty is a wholly owned operating unit of Snecma Group of France….
