Karna Gupta

Karna Gupta has been appointed president and CEO of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), effective August 25/11. Gupta comes to ITAC from the private sector where he serves on the boards of several technology companies. Prior to that, he was CEO of Certicom Corp, an encryption technology firm based in Mississauga where he led the company's turnaround and negotiated its acquisition by Research in Motion Ltd. Prior to joining Certicom, Gutpa held several executive positions with Sitraka Mobility, Comverse Technologies and Bell Canada, including VP product development and management. He replaces Bernard Courtois, who stepped down after a term of more than seven years….
