Eight Canada-Chinese R&D projects involving companies from both countries have received $10.6 million from a variety of government and private sector sources. The funding was provided through an agreement between International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada Inc (ISTPCanada) — the delivery arm of the International Science and Technology Program and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. The R&D projects include initiatives for high-yield pulp and paper, marine pharmaceuticals for hospitalized patients, interoperability of wireless access terminals and a non linear generator system for oceanic and tidal wave energy.
