Atlantic Hydrogen Inc, Fredericton NB, has secured new funding to build a demonstration plant for its CarbonSaver technology. The funding is being provided by EnCana Environmental Innovation Fund and the New Brunswick Climate Change Action Fund. The amount of funding, which was not disclosed, accounts for about half of the project costs. The three-year, stage-gate project begins this summer and will be guided by a commercialization advisory committee. The project aims to complete one or more plants capable of generating hydrogen-enriched natural gas as well as a comprehensive profile of the carbon and details of market applications. CarbonSaver technology uses low-energy plasma dissociation process to generate hydrogen-enriched natural gas in a combined heat and power application. The result is high purity carbon with no greenhouse gas emissions which can be used in many applications such as a conductor of electricity….
