FP Genetics invests in wheat breeding research

FP Genetics, Regina SK, will invest $1.5 million over the next 10 years in Saskatchewan's Crop Development Centre (CDC). The funding will go toward's expanding breeding efforts at CDC's Canadian Prairie Spring wheat breeding program — a lower protein alternative to Canada Western Red Spring wheat. FP Genetics currently supports CDC's oat breeding program. The company was formed in 2008 to provide new crop varieties to its members in the pedigreed seed industry for multiplication and sale. It is a major distributor of new cereal, oilseed, special crop and forage varieties in western Canada.....
