Ericsson has selected the Montreal suburb of Vaudreuil-Dorion as its third network of Global ICT Centres. The network, Ericsson's first outside of Sweden, will create virtual global environment for the development of cloud infrastructure and services. The highly-scalable facility's location was chosen to further tap into Montreal's growing expertise as an R&D engineering hub. The Centre will host a "substantial part" of the company's product portfolio, allowing Ericsson employees worldwide to emulate mobile networks and test new solutions, bringing the Stockholm-based company's 5G development under one virtual roof in a "24/7, online R&D environment". Last year, Ericsson relocated its Montreal-based R&D and Services Centre to a new site located in the borough of Saint-Laurent, where half of its 3,500 Canadian employees are housed….
