Drs Kevin Costello and Davide Gaiotto have been recruited to Canada to assume two new chair positions at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. The chairs were created with a $4-million donation from the Krembil Foundation — an amount matched by the Perimeter Institute. Irish-born Costello will hold the Krembil Foundation Galileo Galilei Chair in Theoretical Physics. He graduated from Cambridge Univ and is a professor of mathematics at Northwestern Univ. Italian-born Gaiotto holds a PhD from Princeton Univ, completed post-doctoral work at Harvard Univ and was a long-term member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton until 2011.
